The National Bioeconomy Day returns to Ravenna with three events organized by Cluster Spring, Federchimica-Assobiotec, Fondazione Raul Gardini, Novamont, ReSoil Foundation, APRE, FVA, Transition2Bio in collaboration with Ravenna Festival and the patronage of the Municipality of Ravenna to explore the issues behind the ecological transition and the fight against climate change.
Two days dedicated to bioeconomy, understood as an economy that uses renewable biological sources as raw material for industrial, energy, food and feed production, will be held on May 25 and 26 at the Alighieri Theater. In 2020, the Italian bioeconomy was worth 317 billion euros and employed about 2 million people. A metasector that has proven during the pandemic to be resilient and is the basis of Europe’s Green New Deal.
These two days will be populated by debates and panel discussions in which key stakeholders from industry, agriculture and finance will speak.
It will also be an opportunity to award prizes to national schools that participated in the “Bioeconomy4YOU” competition, as well as to talk about sustainable development, the UN 2030 Agenda and green jobs.
The Bioeconomy Days will be preceded on Saturday, May 21 at 3 p.m. by the Canale Corsini-Foce Fiumi Uniti coast-to-coast trekking concert. Ambrogio Sparagna will lead a marching band of the Istituto Comprensivo Statale Darsena students who will beat instruments made of Mater-Bi (biodegradable plastic) through the coastal pinewood; upon arrival Michele Carnevali, ocarina virtuoso, will play the first instrument made of Mater-Bi. The event, in collaboration with Ravenna Festival, Trail Romagna and Jazz va a Scuola, will be free to attend.
