A docu-fiction that tells the life of Raul Gardini between 1990 and 1993, from the Moro di Venezia to the last day of his life, from the successes of the America's Cup to Tangentopoli

On 23 July 2023, the Rai docufiction dedicated to the entrepreneur from Ravenna has been screened at the Alighieri theater and at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Ravenna. The Alighieri evening began at 21 with the actors and authors of the docufilm on stage for a short presentation.

Fabrizio Bentivoglio plays Raul Gardini, the man capable of marking the world of business and sport. The actor told the story of the character in a backstage video available on Rai Play: “A thinker, he underlines it several times in the interviews he left us”.

The actor added, “After these big thinking sessions, he’s a man of action, he does. Once he decides what to do, he does it. And he has a sportsman’s temper “.

The actor is joined by Pilar Fogliati, in the cast also Sara D’Amario, Helene Nardini, Laura Cravedi, Gabriela Giovanardi, Sebastian Luque Herrera, Pierantonio Novara, Stefano Abbati and Michele Rosiello.

Fabrizio Bentivoglio then spoke about the structure of the docufiction: “He is an enlightened entrepreneur. The structure that our film has is that of having a documentary part and a filmed part. It allowed us to ensure that the documentary part dealt with Gardini, the public man, entrepreneur, and the filmed part dealt with Raul, the private man, the father of a family, an old-fashioned man, a man of the twentieth century”.

In a few days, the approximately 850 seats (free admission) of the Alighieri theater in Ravenna were sold out to watch of the docufilm, co-produced by Rai Fiction and Aurora TV. To meet the great demand for seats, it was possible to participate in the vision of the entire event also at 9 pm with a further 320 seats from the Palazzo dei Congressi. The same evening, starting at 21.25, the documentary film was also broadcasted on Rai Uno. The public event on 23 July was promoted by the Gardini Foundation with the patronage of the Municipality of Ravenna and the collaboration of the Ravenna Festival.
