Ecomondo, the fair dedicated to the development of the circular economy, will hold its 23rd session in Rimini from November 5-8, 2019. The conference “Regions as Key Actors in Guiding the Development of the Bioeconomy at the Local Level” will be held on November 7th, organized by the Technical-Scientific Committee of Ecomondo and by Spring, the Italian Green Chemistry Cluster.
Moderated by Mario Bonaccorso of Spring and Assobiotec, the conference will also be attended by the Raul Gardini Foundation, which has been invited to present “Darsena in Blue”, a pilot project for sustainability education in schools carried out in collaboration with the Darsena Institute of Ravenna.
The importance of education to sustainable development has been pointed out also during UN COP25 summitt, COP25: Italy and Mexico pave the way on climate education, encouraging other nations to prioritize climate education https://europeansting.com/2019/12/12/cop25-italy-and-mexico-pave-the-way-on-climate-education/
At this conference, the short film “Darsena in Blue: The Fairy Tales of Gunter Pauli for Education in Sustainable Development” will be screened for the first time. Made by director Vito Robbiani with the assistance of Gianfranco Rosi, parts of the film were shot in the Environmental Research Center, founded by Raul Gardini in 1993. Now closed, the Center is officially scheduled to resume activity in 2021. The film features students of the Darsena Institute and Gunter Pauli, a Belgian entrepreneur and important supporter of education in the circular economy in primary and secondary schools.
